Novice Class

Starting Spring 2008
The Arctic Bird Dog Association is holding its annual Novice (any age)
introductory class for people and their dogs that are interested in the
basics of training for upland bird hunting and AKC Hunt Tests. This class will be held weekly
starting April 18. 2008 There will be two to four indoor training sessions held on
Friday evenings at 7 P.M. for Spaniels and 8 P.M. for Pointers.
This will cover basic commands and obedience needed in the field. We'll be introducing basic training equipment, its uses, training sequences, methods and suggested resources for continued training.
There will be separate classes and instructors for
pointing breeds and spaniels and flushers. Following the classroom
training there will be two to four outdoor training sessions with live birds.
Total class length is six (6) weeks.

Depending on weather 2 to 4 classes will be in-doors (tentatively scheduled to be again at Alyeska Canine Trainers) and the remainder of the classes will be at yet to be identified outdoor location.
Class size is limited and classes will be
filled on a first come first served basis. Cost of the class is $150.00.
