FUN FIELD DAY  2010

ABDA Fun Field (final date and plan being developed)

This year ABDA is hosting a Fun Field Day event at Falconridge, in the Carpenter Lake/ Point Mackenzie area.

The purpose is to invite members and prospective members to Falconridge to meet and work with their dogs. It is an introduction to resources available in ABDA and at Falconridge. This is a great opportunity to see different breeds of pointing dogs and flushing dogs. If you are considering a new dog or puppy, this event may help you find the breed you like. You will see what can be expected of finished dogs of all breeds. ABDA will:

Provide an opportunity for people to work their dogs on live birds.

Provide examples of hunt test event requirements with dogs in the field.

Provide potential for training discussions, demonstrations, and developing mentorship for dog handling.

The events will be held between 10 AM and 5 PM.

The activity fee for each person with a dog is $25. This includes a lunch and one Chukar.

The activity fee for spectators is $6 which also includes a lunch.

Lunch is available for additional people at $6 per person.

Additional birds are available for trainers at a cost of $14 per bird.

Pre-registration is available before the event soon. Please RSVP when available to help us estimate needs and traffic. We recommend that participants select a time to work their dogs.

The agenda may be further refined, but at this time, the day will begin with registration and introductions at 9:45 AM to 10 AM.

Individuals will be assigned training locations for field training during the morning, water training in the afternoon.
